I figured now the 3G iphone is out, there would be a better chance finding a good deal on a normal iphone. I checked ebay and believe or not they are still selling outrageously on normal iphones (about $300-400). Anyone know a place where I can get a
Maybe ebay. A good move on your part. The downloads are quick enough and almost all the new apps work well on the 2g. It has much longer battery life and doesn't have the cheap plastic look of the new phone.Plus its $10 a month cheaper.

As you know, the unlocked iPhone 4S starts at $649 and goes all the way up to $849 for the flagship 64GB model. Its predecessor, the iPhone 4, costs $549 without any subsidies. Now, compare this to a $70 contract-free ZTE X500 or Samsung’s Galaxy Mini that sells for $188. True, these are not what you would call high-end devices, but the same goes for the 8GB iPhone 3GS that retails in the U.S. for $375 without any subsidies. When Apple originally introduced the iPhone, it shipped in 4GB and 8GB models. A couple months later, Apple discontinued the 4GB model completely and dropped the price of the 8GB model. Apple, now, sells iPhones for $199 (8GB) and $299 (yup, you guess it, 16GB) with 2-year contracts. A 4GB iPhone model for $99 does make sense, but will it happen? $99 will be aggressive and will sell alot more iPhones. Only time will tell. Stay Tuned!
