Can I put my power adapter in the same bag as my Macbook?

I bought my Macbook on Monday and it says in the manual that the power adapter should be kept away from harddisks, creditcards etc.

Can I put it in the same bag my Macbook without risking my HDD? Or is that warning only for PLUGGED-IN

Only Apple would put something like that in a manual to cover their own asses. I can see it now:

Customer: Hello, my Mac won't turn on.
Apple Support: Did you keep it in the same bag as the power adapter?
Customer: Yes.

Quick Take: Brenthaven Prostyle Sleeve for 11″ MacBook Air

Considering my backpacks or shoulder bags have some padding already, I have a hard justifying sticking my MacBook Air 11″ into yet another bag. I find it a nuisance to open two bags when one should suffice.

Still, my wife bugged me to get a case for the MacBook Air and I compromised with a Speck SeeThru hard-shell case. Once I was able to get the shells cleaned and put on, I’ve been quite impressed with the rough and tumble protection I’ve had.

Pros:

Kevin, I haven’t had any problems with dust so far and I live in dusty areas. Probably if I removed the shells once a month per Speck’s suggestion, I’d see the dust. However, after two months, my white business card, for ID purposes, tucked between the computer bottom and shell is still showing as white.
