The instructions for my brand new cordless phone tell me that I should leave it on charge for at least 24 hours before using it for the very first time. However I have noticed that the battery charge icon showed that it was fully charged after about 5
no leave it on trust me
leave it for 24 hours
let it completely drain out over a few days (you can use it)
then recharge it when ever it needs a charge
