I gave Kubuntu a shot after Unity ended up being unstable on my laptop. Despite not liking it in the past, it’s really clicking with me now. It took me a little bit to figure out how to configure it to my liking – people don’t lie when they say that KDE swamps you with options. But I got the hang of it, and I think I’m better off for it at the moment.

last year I used Kubuntu and I was happy. I even had the user mailing list. Then I stumbled across a post where some guys asked for more Kubuntu branding. What I understood from that post is that KDE is so beautiful Kubuntu devs feel they don’t need to change anything (look wise). I personally like oxygen for about a week and feel inclined to change it. I prefer a personalised Bespin theme which I have had since I switched to KDE about 2-3 weeks ago (I switched because I have always like KDE and I am preparing myself for a switch to Arch. I loved using Unity and I am tempted to continue using every time I use it a lil but Xmonad is just too awesome at the moment and I want to learn more about linux, felt I should explain.).
